Winter-themed tags! Winter-themed tags!
Here in the Pacific Northwest, we get rain instead of snow.
It is, however, COLD.
I saw this tag on The Reading Fairy and realized Christmas is…this week.
Yikes.
Snow Day
What’s your “comfort” book?
I have a stack of rereads ready for the holidays, among them Katie Heaney’s Never Have I Ever and Samantha Ellis’ How to Be a Heroine.
I’m currently rereading The Starless Sea because the worldbuilding is so complete, I can easily escape into the story.
I’ve been craving this book a lot since I first read it in May.
I’d much rather live in a world where Books Are Serious Business than a world where…*gestures to everything.*

Snow Angels
What’s a book you love so much, you would want to be buried with it?
Being buried with In the Dream House feels right.
This book represents everything I want to achieve in terms of craft, disclosure, and insight.
It’s a perfect book.
Perhaps a more appropriate book to be buried with would be How to Be Alone.
Yes, I know this is morbid, I’m trying to survive a pandemic.

Warm Socks
What’s a book that made you feel warm inside? (The fluffiest, cutest romance you’ve ever read)
Check, Please! made my year 100% better.
I’ve read multiple very good, hopeful romances this year.
This one was all fluff.
I cried and cried.
Someone wife me up and bake me pies.

Hot Cocoa
What winter-themed novels have you previously read?
I read Written in the Stars at the start of the season.
Winter romances strike me as extra romantic.
I loved this book so much.
Support this Seattle author. Buy this book. Be gay. Do crime.

Sledding
What’s a book with the best plot twists? Who’s an author that always keeps you on your toes?
Ashley Poston writes in so many genres, I’m never quite sure what to expect from her.
First, she puts out multiple romantic contemporaries in the same universe.
Then, she puts out a sci-fi duology about Anastasia Romanov? WHAT??
Heart of Iron took so many twists and turns. My emotions were swirling all over the place.
I STILL haven’t read the sequel. I AM AFRAID.

Ugly Sweaters
What’s a book with the ugliest cover?
I don’t love the art style for the Here the Whole Time cover.
The story looks interesting enough. The cover is not for me.
I saw the European cover – sadly, it’s not better!

Movie Marathon
What’s the last book you binge read?
It took me four months to read the first half of The Priory of the Orange Tree and four days to read the second half.
I LOVED this book.
I sobbed my way through the final chapters.
100% satisfying. Two thumbs up.

Letter to Santa
What’s a book that’s on your wishlist this year?
I bought The Magic Fish for a friend and was so tempted to keep it for myself.
It’s the perfect size. I don’t know how to describe it aside from PERFECT.
I also saw The Times I Knew I Was Gay at the bookshop.
I would like some graphic novels for Christmas, please.
Or for my birthday two weeks into January.
Y’all know what to do.
It’s cold in my makeshift office and Christmas is in four days.
NOT SURE HOW WE GOT HERE.
I’m exhausted.
If you’re cold, like Christmas music, or are trying to distract yourself from the despair that sometimes surrounds the holidays, go ahead and do this tag.
