Yes. I know it’s Wednesday. Yesterday was Tuesday.
I’m still doing the Tuesday book meme.
I regularly forget about the great Top Ten Tuesday topics at That Artsy Reader Girl. The site is a treasure trove of topics for book bloggers to discuss.
I keep meaning to read books in one sitting but haven’t quite succeeded. I have a lot going on these days.
If I had a huge block of time and the necessary focus, these are the books I would prioritize.
Hamnet by Maggie O’Farrell
Plague novel about Shakespeare’s family?
Heck, I’d read that!
I mean, I bought it, so…logically it follows that I would read it!
That’s what one does with books they buy, surely!

I Think I Love You by Auriane Desombre
Sapphic enemies-to-lovers romance based on Much Ado About Nothing.
I’m a goner.

Meet Cute Club by Jack Harbon
Slim m/m romance with a pink cover.
IT SEEMS LIKE SOMETHING I COULD READ IN AN AFTERNOON.
AND YET.
HERE WE ARE.

The Crying Book by Heather Christle
I spent at least an hour at Auntie’s Bookstore in Spokane trying to decide which books I couldn’t live without.
I’d finalized my choices, then I saw this book on the New in Paperback table.
It sounds like the kind of squishy nonfiction fiction I enjoy.
I should have put this in my Crying Book Tag.

Everyone Knows Your Mother Is a Witch by Rivka Galchen
I don’t know why I’ve been so enamored with this time period of late.
I am heading to Renn Faire soon; that could be part of it.
I know I’m into this book’s BRIGHT PURPLE COVER.
It’s quite pleasing.

Hola Papi! by John Paul Brammer
A series of essays by a gay author!
A healthy smattering of jokes!
A colorful cover!
I expect this will make my Top 10 Favorite Books list this year.
I’m very excited.

This Will Be My Undoing by Morgan Jerkins
This book is tantalizingly slim.
I put it on my Seattle Public Library Book Bingo as motivation, I guess.
This summer I will read this, by golly.

Anne of Green Gables by L. M. Montgomery
This book STOLE MY HEART when I was but a wee babe.
Anne is my friend and I love her.
The story relaxes me. I would really like to reread it soon.

Peter Pan by J. M. Barrie
This is another comfort read of mine that I haven’t read in years.
Neverland might be my favorite fictional universe, brutality and all.
I used to listen to a fantastic audiodrama version of this story.
Man, I miss Neverland a lot! I need to go back!

One Last Stop by Casey McQuiston
It’s been three months since I read this book and I can’t stop thinking about it.
I can’t focus on any of the other books I’m reading – all I want is OLS.
I want to set aside time to reread this beautiful novel.
I need sapphic time travel and found family.
I would also like an egg sandwich.
Specifically, a Su Special.
This is my prospective TBR.
Will I read any of these books in the coming months?
PROBABLY NOT.
I’m in a slump right now. Pray for me.

Morgan Jerkins = absolutely brilliant. Loved that book. Devoured it in a couple days, if I recall.
Also, now I have to order books from Auntie’s because it seems rude not to now that I know it’s there.

Oooh, that’s exciting. I’m excited to read it now.
Gotta support indie businesses, right?
