What Is Your Favorite Christmas Scene In A Book?

I’ve been talking about The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe a lot recently.

(It’s almost Christmas, so it makes sense.)

[Side note: I remember when the movie came out around Christmas time and my town went WILD.]

I have long been jealous of the Pevensies for receiving PERSONALIZED MAGICAL GIFTS FROM FATHER CHRISTMAS HIMSELF.

Lucy got the best gift by far, but Susan’s was pretty cool.

And EDMUND DIDN’T GET ANYTHING BECAUSE HE WASN’T THERE.

 

Do You Have Any Christmas Book Traditions?

My big book “tradition” is asking for a lot of books for Christmas.

I also like to read while my family works on puzzles because I LOVE BOOKS and HATE PUZZLES.

 

Do You Prefer To Get Presents Of Book Vouchers Or Books?

There’s something really special about unwrapping a book that someone picked out just for you.

Last year, I asked for and received Girl Made of Stars.

I tragically had to leave it at my parents’ house for several weeks, but I FINALLY got to read it and loved it with all my heart.

Perfect gift.

 

Do You Give Books As Presents?

I ONLY gave books as presents this year.

My family loves to read and I understand their tastes pretty well.

Maybe.

We shall see.

 

What Bookish Item Is On Your Christmas Wishlist?

I told you about the candles, yeah?

What 3 Books Would You Love Santa To Have In His Sack For You?

Don’t love that phrasing!

The following books won’t be released for quite a while.

I would LOVE if Santa got me some advanced copies.

Santa, please get me The Winter Duke (f/f fantasy Romanov tale, out March 2020), The Sound of Stars (f/f demisexual romance in space, already pre-ordered), and Belle Révolte (I just like the cover, out February 2020.)

What’s Your Favorite Thing About Christmas?

I love watching people open their gifts.

I like to get people things they want but wouldn’t expect.

I’m excited for my family to open their presents this year.

I got some great secondary gifts.

 

What Christmas Book Would You Recommend?

Prancer was my FAVORITE Christmas book for years and years.

In elementary school, I looked forward to reading Prancer during reading circle every Christmas…right up until I transferred to Christian school and traded Santa for Jesus.

A great secondary recommendation would be Peef the Christmas Bear.

I wanted a Peef stuffed animal SO BADLY.

One of my friends had one and I almost killed her for it.

Obviously, this was BEFORE I transferred to Christian school.

 

What Dish On Your Christmas Menu Are You Most Looking Forward To?

I used to look forward to coconut-walnut bon-bons and almond cookies every year.

My family doesn’t make those much anymore.

This year we’re making mac and cheese instead of pot roast.

I can’t wait.

 

When Do You Open Your Christmas Presents?

My siblings and I have ZERO patience, so my mom started letting us open ONE present (from either sibling) on Christmas Eve.

We open the rest on Christmas Day.

Christmas Day is also STOCKING day, and stockings are one of the BEST PARTS of Christmas.

We eat cereal or my dad makes a hot breakfast.

I’ll see if I can get him to make cinnamon rolls this year.

 

What’s Your Favourite Christmas Song?

I forgot about the Christmas break-up gem “I Hate Christmas Parties” by Relient K.

I DO HATE CHRISTMAS PARTIES.

I always hang out with the kids because I don’t want to make small talk and eat vegetables.

 

Are You Dreaming Of A White Christmas?

Not really.

We’re visiting my brother in Spokane this year and I would really love for the pass to stay clear.
