The bloggers I know are kind.
Case in point: Meghan @ Meghan’s Whimsical Explorations & Reviews tagged me in this Awesome Blogger Award tag.
Meghan does deep dives into TV shows, music, and your favorite YA books. I very much look forward to her reviews and you will, too.
The award was created by Maggie @Dreaming of Guatemala. This is an award for the absolutely wonderful writers all across the blogging world. They have beautiful blogs, are kind and lovely, and always find a way to add happiness and laughter to the lives of their readers. That is what truly defines an awesome blogger.

How many books do you want to read this year?
I reduced my very ambitious January 1st goal to a more manageable 200 books.
I started 200 books last year and finished around 160, so I know it’s possible.
What’s one thing you are planning to leave behind in 2019?
I added a new schedule and a lengthy commute to my work-life last year and it wore me out.
I’m switching back to a 5-day schedule so I can cook and rest and read and not spend my entire weekend catching up on sleep.
What’s something you’d like to do/or gain in 2020?
I’d like to write a second draft of my NaNo novel.
The editing process feels very daunting at the moment, but also possible.
It would be cool to present a finished project for my friends and family to read.
It’s nice to be important but it’s important to be nice. What is the nicest thing someone has ever done for you?
A friend invited me to a movie while I was off in the forest at someone’s lake house.
I told him I didn’t have access to a car.
Said friend drove from Bremerton to Shelton to pick me up.
A different friend used to go all out for my birthday. I remember one year she color-coordinated all the ribbons and wrapping paper so I’d get gifts in my favorite colors.
It was a really thoughtful detail.
What are your hopes for your blog in the next year?
What can I say that doesn’t sound too full of myself?
It would be cool to hit 500 subscribers.
500 is a good goal, though.
Who or what are you most grateful for in life?
I have a lot of things to appreciate.
My family has been very supportive in the past year and I’ve had a lot of fun trying new restaurants and playing Drawful with them.
I have very kind friends who like to geek about the silliest things with me, even if that thing is Cats.
For once, I really like where I’m living. I can see myself here for a while.
Last, but not least, I am grateful for candles.
They inspire me.
Who is your favourite musician/band/singer?
These are hard questions!
I like Taylor Swift more than many people expect.
I use the band COIN on a lot of my playlists. They are wonderful.
I am anxiously awaiting a WALK THE MOON album.
Halsey and Jon Bellion have songs that make me teary.
I like AJR a lot.
I’ve been listening to a lot of Twin Temple lately. Don’t tell my mom.
What would you like to be remembered for?
I read Lindy West’s The Witches Are Coming recently and I really loved West’s voice.
Like West, I want to be remembered for my ideas and my writing style.
I want people to quote my insights and fondly recall my creativity.
Do you prefer Bookstagram or Book Twitter? Share your social links.
I used to spend a lot of time on Book Twitter.
Recently, though, I’ve decided to take a break.
Twitter was bumming me out.
I’m getting my book recommendations mainly from blogs now.
Random question: do you have a specific mug for specific beverages? Ex. a mug only for coffee, a mug only for tea, etc.? (I can’t be the only one!)
Listen, Meghan: I own a lot of mugs.
A LOT of mugs.
And I keep buying more, because I’m a masochist, apparently.
I DO have special purposes for my mugs.
My 20 oz mugs are strictly for coffee. Those help wake me up on a sleepy Saturday.
My brother bought me two Pokemon mugs with tea-related puns, so those are obviously for tea.
Then there’s the “Village Witch” mug I bought for NaNo. I use that one specifically while writing.
Questions for you:
- Have you ever quit a fandom because it got too toxic? (What up, Star Wars?) If so, which one was it and what was the final straw?
- If forced to read a genre you don’t pick up often for a month, which genre would you choose?
- Describe your blogging space. Do you blog in multiple spaces?
- Cooking: a fun experiment or a tedious waste of time?
- Someone just offered to make you your favorite drink and play your favorite movie. What are you drinking and watching?
- What’s your favorite part of your morning routine?
- Which recent bestseller do you feel is overrated?
- Which recent bestseller do you feel is underrated?
- How do you celebrate Valentine’s Day?
- What song gets you pumped up? Would you listen to said song on loop while writing?
That’s all from me today. I should go cook, a chore I consider both tedious AND a fun experiment.
