A new release you’ve already read

I read It’s Kind of Cheesy Love Story a few weeks after its publication.

I thought it was cute! I liked that the characters discussed what makes a good pizza!

Everyone became friends and the town came together at the end.

This book was just fun.

A new release that’s already come out but you haven’t read yet

I got Lost in the Never Woods as an audiobook but haven’t listened to it yet.

I initially wasn’t super interested in this book.

HOWEVER…

…I love Peter Pan. So I’m going to check it out.

A new release you just found out about

I learned about Claribel Ortega’s Witchlings just recently.

I love it and I want it more than anything.

It’s about students at a witch school who have to fight the Nightbeast!

There are different magical houses! I’m a Goose!

I love everything about it!

Also I just learned it comes out in 2022.

A new release you’re excited about from one of your favorite authors

Molly Knox Ostertag has a new graphic novel coming out that I’ve already preordered.

I actually haven’t read any of Knox Ostertag’s published works, but I HAVE followed her LOTR fanfic from the beginning and it’s beautiful! She’s a wonderful writer and artist!

I just love a sea motif, y’all.

A new release you’re excited about from a new-to-you author

I preordered The Ones We’re Meant to Find at the very last second.

Book bloggers kept calling this their favorite EVER novel about climate change.

Also, would you look at this cover???

I’m reading this book right now and I’m braced for the plot twists.

A new release you have no interest in

I wasn’t super impressed with Mason Deaver’s debut.

They have a new book coming out that I’m pretty meh about.

I’m also judging this new book by its cover.

A new release you want to pick up soon

My friend Nikita is moving, which I HATE.

We decided to do a long-distance book club and we chose One Last Stop for Pride month!

We’re both very excited about it!

I JUST WANT THIS BOOK TO COME OUT ALREADY.

The funniest part is that I’m most stoked about the sapphic romance and she’s excited about the time travel.

We are very different people.

A new release that hasn’t come out yet but you can’t wait to read!

I’m don’t normally read middle grade, but I love an anthology.

This is Our Rainbow is a diverse queer anthology with an AMAZING line-up.

The bigger challenge: find a new release that DOESN’T have an amazing cover.

This cover stunned me the first time I saw it.

Your favorite new release you’ve read so far this year

I’m having trouble choosing between two of the new releases I’ve read this year.

One employs emotional wreckage, the other quiet devastation.

Book #1: The Mirror Season destroyed me.

I think this is a really important and moving book about sexual assault.

I loved the magical elements quite a bit.

Anna-Marie McLemore was very open in their author’s note about their own experiences.

I’m grateful for them and hope their case progresses.

Book #2: Honey Girl healed me.

I liked the friendships and the deep dive into father-daughter relationships.

The mental health stuff hit VERY hard.

This book is very honest. I think it will help a lot of people.

Also, in terms of craft, the writing is BEAUTIFUL. It almost reads like poetry.

I just think it’s neat.

More and more books are released every day and I can’t keep up.

I’m going to share these new releases for no reason because LOOK AT THEM.
