I haven’t watched it since the negative discourse erupted in 2013.

I hear it’s still selling a ton of merchandise.

Good for Disney, I suppose.

Anyway, this is a Frozen-inspired book tag ripped from Never Not Reading.

A book you wouldn’t mind parting with

I read Part of It: Comics and Confessions by Ariel Schrag while on sick leave.

It was…fine?

I liked the themes more than I liked the execution.

I found the art style distracting.

A book you think should only be read in summer

Everyone pick up a copy of You Know Me Well for Pride month.

It’s the perfect summer read.

 

Fixer Upper

A book you wish had an alternate ending

(Spoilers for The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare)

Clockwork Prince set up the trilogy’s conflict so perfectly…so why did Clockwork Princess suck?

The book ends too neatly, with EVERY character (save Henry and the werewolf) getting a happy ending.

Would it have hurt to toss a bit more realism in there?

Maybe, instead of killing off Henry, you could have inserted some genuine tragedy.

Did you REALLY want to go with the “two true loves” ending? REALLY?

A book you’d like to give a warm hug

I LOVED Georgia Peaches and Other Forbidden Fruit.

For all the kids who needed a book like this one: I love you and I’d give YOU a hug if I could.

A book that made you so mad you just wanted to freeze it

STALKING JACK THE RIPPER SHOULD HAVE BEEN BILLED AS A ROMANCE!!!

There’s a difference between a historical thriller with a romance and a historical thriller romance!!!

I was here for Jack the Ripper!!! I wanted gore and motivation!

I GOT A KNOCKOFF WILL HERONDALE! WHO DOES THAT?

Not only was the killer SUPER OBVIOUS, but the author CLEARLY DIDN’T CARE about him.

JACK THE RIPPER WAS A VESSEL FOR THE LOVE STORY.

GET OUT.

 

Anna and Kristoff

Your favorite book couple

Quick note: I don’t ship Anna and Kristoff.

I’m not into it. I’m anti-Groff.

I loved Let’s Talk about Love.

Alice and Takumi give me so much hope. They talk about EVERYTHING, are always honest, respect each other’s differences, and compromise.

By the end, they’ve been together seven months.

I want this! I want what they have!

 

Anna and Elsa

Your favorite sibling relationship in a book

THIS I ship. Platonically. I platonically ship this.

Puck and Finn are best. Stiefvater nails the begrudging sibling banter and balances it with genuine care and thoughtful gestures.

Finn uses every dish in the kitchen to make Puck one cup of cocoa and sells his beloved car to feed Puck’s pony.

Puck buys Finn pastries and protects him from butchers, both human and horse.

THAT’S LOVE.

 

Prince Hans of the Southern Isles

A villain that seemed good at first, but ended up causing a heap of trouble

Kavinsky drag-races Ronan Lynch and dreams up new leather bracelets – let the homoeroticism flow.

He also uses ethnic and homophobic slurs, touches Ronan without permission, and threatens Ronan’s family and friends.
