Obsessively looking for book tags DOES yield some results!
I found this Star Trek book tag, created by Jay Dee Archer, on Space and Sorcery.
I aspire to be like William Riker.
I refuse to elaborate.
STAR TREK: THE ORIGINAL SERIES – A CORNY YET ENTERTAINING BOOK
I loved Bright Gay Seas.
It was a fun, affirming pirate adventure.
Books like these make up for my closeted adolescence.

STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION – A SEQUEL THAT WAS BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL
Ninth House is one of my favorite books of all time.
I’m hoping the long-awaited sequel Hell Bent will be even better.
I’m afraid I’m setting myself up for disappointment.
I’m also VERY EXCITED.

STAR TREK: DEEP SPACE NINE – A BOOK OR SERIES WITH A GREAT ENSEMBLE CAST
The characters in The Bone Orchard are one person’s alters.
The alters all work in a…how shall I put this?
Pleasure house.
This book is very intense. Please look up trigger warnings before reading.

STAR TREK: VOYAGER – A BOOK OR SERIES INVOLVING AN EPIC JOURNEY
Explain to me why Crinkle Shorts by Little Foxy was the first search result I got when I googled “book with epic journey.”
Someone please.

STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE – A BOOK OR SERIES WITH A BAD ENDING
I was not the target audience for this book.
I love romantic fanfic.
I HATE bittersweet, inspirational reads.
We’d Know By Then was the latter.
I felt like it removed all the interesting parts of the Reylo dynamic.
I didn’t read this whole thing – I started skimming at the 60% mark.
What I did read pissed me off.
I interpreted the book’s message as “BE BRAVE OR THE UNIVERSE WILL PUNISH YOU.”
I AM NOT A FAN OF THIS TYPE OF MESSAGING.
I then read the epilogue and lost my whole mind. Just…why. Who okayed this.

STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS – YOUR MOST ANTICIPATED FUTURE RELEASE
Aside from Hell Bent, I’m really l looking forward to Ali Hazelwood’s Love on the Brain and Katee Roberts’s Wicked Beauty.
I loved The Love Hypothesis so much, I’m sure I’ll love Love on the Brain even more.
I’m not at liberty to discuss the plot of Wicked Beauty but it is Trojan war-inspired. Could not be more stoked.
Don’t ask me how school is going.
I’m trying to decide if I should read more Leigh Bardugo. I’ve read her most popular Six of Crows and Shadow and Bone… but I kinda stopped. You’ve intrigued me about Ninth House though.
Also yay to a Star Trek tag – Star Trek has been my life the last little while, who knew I loved sci-fi so much… not me! 😂

I was pretty meh on Leigh Bardugo’s other series and LOVED Ninth House. It is VERY love it or hate it though. There’s a character who reminds me of Gansey from The Raven Boys. I can’t stand him but he’s the highlight of the book for many.
Haha that’s the best. I sometimes forget that classics like Star Trek and Star Wars DO count as sci-fi!

That’s good to know, I may give Ninth House a chance… at some point once I lower my TBR… if that ever happens 😄

1. Why does this tag skip over Star Trek: Discovery? THE GREATEST MOST QUEER OF THE STAR TREKS? I shall add my own: Star Trek: Discovery – a book that is unexpectedly full of queer representation in a casual and pleasing way. OR a book where the villain is the best character and weirdly lovable.
2. I can only assume you wish you were tall enough to approach a chair like Riker do. That, or you …want to be a beard?

That is an excellent prompt and also I’ve never watched Discovery. I’m Next Gen/Enterprise/Deep Space Nine trash via my brothers.
HE’S JUST SO COOL AND HE PLAYS TROMBONE. LOOK AT THAT HANDSOME GUY.
